FRIDAY: Independence Blue Cross Foundation & Philadelphia Union to Help Students in Glenside “Get Fit” as Part of Healthy Futures Initiative

Union player will lead a 90-minute soccer session with students from St. Joseph the Protector School

WHAT:

The Independence Blue Cross Foundation and Philadelphia Union will visit St. Joseph the Protector School in Glenside to showcase a key element of the IBC Foundation Healthy Futures initiative — a comprehensive three-year, $2.7 million campaign geared towards improving child wellness throughout the Philadelphia region.

To demonstrate the “Get Fit” component of Healthy Futures, a Union player will lead a 90-minute soccer session with St. Joseph students with a blow up soccer field. The hands-on training and motivational lesson will complement the St. Joseph’s existing fitness curriculum and reinforce the importance of physical activity inside and outside of school.

The Independence Blue Cross Foundation is forging partnerships, dedicating resources, and pursuing innovation to help Philadelphia-area families with children to Eat Right, Get Fit, and Stay Well.
