The Independence Blue Cross Foundation’s STOP initiative increases awareness and access to effective community-based opioid treatment and prevention. The STOP initiative will expand outcome- and evidence-based programs and community resources, identify the barriers to treatment and prevention, and disseminate effective community-based strategies and education around this public health epidemic.
STOP aims to address the opioid epidemic through the following activities:
Help prevent prescription drug abuse by disposing of unused prescription drugs. There are more than 100 prescription drug take-back locations in the five-county region where you can safely and properly discard medication.
The Independence Blue Cross Foundation’s Supporting Treatment and Overdose Prevention (STOP) Initiative is combatting the opioid epidemic through leveraging cross-sector collaboration, prevention, enabling community partners, and empowering nurses.
