The Independence Blue Cross Foundation recently launched the Supporting Treatment and Overdose Prevention (STOP) initiative to quickly assemble critical, regional community health providers and resources to increase access to effective treatment and prevention for those struggling with drug abuse. STOP is a collaborative, community-based effort developed in response to the alarming increase in prescription drug abuse initiation, opioid use, and related deaths in our region.
Drug take-back programs are a secure and convenient way to dispose of medication and will help prevent abuse and reduce access. If you have unused prescription drugs in your home, you can visit over 100 locations to safely dispose of these drugs. You can be a part of the solution to help prevent prescription drug abuse.
